i can confirm that not a single one of those sites worked for sending a text.
i used several (2...3...5) different numbers, each from a different service provider and not one single text went thru.
one of the websites didnt do SMSs...it was some sort of company advertisementReply

How to hack someone’s text messages without having their phone. Hacking text messages from another phone is now possible with the recent growth in technology. It is rare to see someone who does not use a Smartphone such as iOS, android or Windows which are all known to have unlimited capabilities when compared to the other types of phones that have millions of developed applications available in the market. The process of spying on an individual’s text messages can be enlightening and challenging too. Though the act of spying on someone’s text messages can put a partnership on the line, it can easily provide a peek into an individual’s daily life that he or she might be covering. In case you have a reason why you should never trust someone in your life, spying their text messages from the cell phones might be the only way to find out more concerning a person’s life and what they are up to whenever you are not around. The spying process includes remote download of any text messages on someone’s mobile phone via the internet. Your gate way will be the victims’ mobile number. However, it is important that you first acquire the victims’ mobile number. It is appropriate that the victim be connected to the internet preferably via WIFI connection since data connection is never stable.

Show on Lock Screen
For those who want more privacy and security, you can also go to Notifications – Messages again and turn off a couple of more items.
The next step would be to disable the Show on Lock Screen option. When you receive a message now, not even a notification will show up on the lock screen. Instead, the phone will either make the text message sound or vibrate if you have it on silent.
When you unlock your phone, a banner will show up across the top showing you the new messages. You’ll also still be able to see how many new messages have arrived because of the badge app icon.
The maximum level of security is to disable Badge App Icon , disable the notification sound and disable messages in the notification center. If you do that, you won’t even know when you have received a new message. You’ll have to manually open the Messages app to see any new messages. That’s probably a bit much, even if you want more privacy and security.
A good balance is to turn off Show Previews and to enable a passcode. That way you will still know when new messages arrive, but can only see them after you unlock your phone.
- 1 I don't think this is necessarily true. There are several mobile applications that send texts over Wifi. Once its out on the internet, it could really go anywhere before hitting the destination. – RoraΖ Jan 21 '15 at 12:53
- 3 Worth adding: Your carrier can tell you more, but there's probably no point . You wouldn't normally use a phone to send a spoofed SMS, because it's easier to edit the message with a computer. This means it will likely trace back to some random machine that sends thousands of SMSs a day, and you'd then have to get info from that provider too. When you need that much info on an attack, you are likely to hit at least one person who doesn't move for anything less than a supoena. – Owen C. Jones Jan 21 '15 at 12:54
- @raz the apps you're talking about are the same as the SMS APIs I mentioned, they keep a log of all sent messages and their origin IPs (sure that can be defeated by Tor) but Verizon would at least tell "the SMS came from "that SMS API company", contact them to get the actual IP of the user who used their app to send it". – user42178 Jan 21 '15 at 12:54
- 1 @raz - The carrier might not know the exact sender, but they will know more. Essentially, they know where to look next, but the whole thing could go on a bit! – Owen C. Jones Jan 21 '15 at 12:55
- @Owen there is point, an user should have the right to know from where a message came from. While the sending carrier may not give out the identity of the user for privacy reasons, Verizon has no benefit from hiding what carrier sent the message, it's just laziness and incompetence. – user42178 Jan 21 '15 at 12:58
